Wolf Dragonard is a pretty badass name. Galaxy II is an unfortunate name.
Cool little database of the Penguin SF covers- highly recommended for the seventies entries alone:

I am glad to hear it is not that dry. I still have yet to read 1984, but I found this and decided to go in publication order. Were there any other stand outs you read on your dystopian kick?

Nothing really stood out other than those two and I made the transition to post-apoc dystopian pretty quickly. I do not like ‘Brave New World’ at all, that book was so dated it was a tough read. I highly recommend 1984 though.
As far as post apocalypse dystopian I would recommend the Handmaid’s Tale and the Chrysalids (as a starting point), as they read quite a bit like the early dystopian stuff, which was still entrenched in ‘literature’.
Cyberpunk was of course a more modern take on the dystopia, and I went through a HUGE cyberpunk phase in the late 90’s/early 00’s.
